Starting a new venture always comes with challenges and opportunities. ChairFund began its journey just 100 days ago, and in this short time, it has made significant strides toward its goals. Whether you are curious about startup growth or interested in how new projects gain momentum, this story offers practical insights and concrete examples.

Building a Strong Foundation

From day one, ChairFund focused on creating a clear mission and solid structure. Prioritizing a simple request, to have people choose the 501c3 organization that they want to represent in the first year. Concentration is on helping share stories relating to why they chose their organization to promote awareness, play games to help financially support those organizations in their own way. The concept of individuals can making a difference in their own way.

The goal is simple and while not profound:

"Have the audience / members pick their preferred 501c3 charity".

Key steps included:

  • Defining core values that guide decision-making: Awareness, Donations and Fun.

  • Building a platform and awareness of ChairFund through web and social platforms.

  • Setting measurable short-term and long-term objectives.

By focusing on these basics, ChairFund ensured that every actions aligned with its overall vision. This clarity helped the team stay motivated and efficient.

Early Challenges and How We Overcame Them

No new project runs smoothly without obstacles. ChairFund faced several challenges in its first months, including:

  • Limited resources and tight budgets.

  • Building brand awareness from scratch

  • Building trust by open communication with funds and sharing...

While Resolution day, September 14, 2026 is the day of final resolution as well as celebrating your continued effort for your 501c3 for the next year or choosing a new one. Having payments of those in the hopper paid by year end 2025 was essential. Members sharing their charities and adding those charities to ChairFund' list.

Donations from members came in from ChairFund activites promoting: The American Heart Association, Philabundance, Best Buddies Georgia, Make A wish Foundation, National Alliance of Mental Illness to THON promoting Four Diamond off the top of my head.

Problems have been tackled by valuable feedback from members has been implemented. For example creating a comic spokesperson to share the concepts as seen above came from a dinner in Pittsburgh. Managing the various aspects of a business and realizing that I will have to slow down to plan and implement concepts for ChairFund and separating the social and fun relating to Average Jim (that comic character). Thank you to the board skilled in various areas, for staying flexible, nimble and supportive.

Another challenge was reaching potential users. ChairFund experimented with different outreach methods, such as community events and targeted online content. These efforts will gradually increase visibility and engagement.

Milestones That Mark Our Progress

Tracking progress helps maintain momentum and celebrate wins. ChairFund reached several important milestones in its first four months:

  • An outreach to over 10 cities across the eastern US.

  • Implemented multiple ChairFund events including Painter's Challenge, contests and competitions in multiple cities.

  • Secured initial funding to support development and operations

  • Launched the first version of the platform with core features

  • Onboarded an initial audience of active users providing valuable feedback

  • Formed partnerships with local organizations to expand reach

Each milestone represented a step closer to ChairFund’s mission. For instance, user feedback led to improvements in the platform’s interface, making it more intuitive and accessible. Partnerships opened doors to new communities and resources.

Lessons Learned and Insights Gained

Experience is the best teacher. ChairFund’s early journey offered several lessons that can benefit others starting similar projects:

  • Need for assistance in areas where I am not a pro (feel free to volunteer if interested)

  • Having members "get" the concept, simplified to picking your charity and focus.

  • Be ready to adapt plans based on real-world conditions

  • Focus on building relationships, not just transactions

These insights helped ChairFund avoid common startup traps and build a foundation for sustainable growth.

What’s Next for ChairFund

Looking ahead, ChairFund plans to build on its early success by:

  • Expanding platform features to be interactive

  • Grow user base and determine the peoples choice of organizations

  • The building of a full focus weekend for September of 2026.

  • To be seen as a fun and productive way to use time, for all (me too)

The goal remains to create value in our workings promoting Awareness, Fund Raising and Fun one person at a time. Sign up and share your charity of choice.
